Built here. Built short.
Built to last longer than one job.

Most training programs ask you to put your life on hold for two years and hope it pays off. We built Virginia Trade School the other way around — short, close to home, and pointed at a career you can still be proud of in twenty years.

01

LOCAL ROOTS

We're from here. That's the whole point.

Virginia Trade School wasn’t franchised in from somewhere else. It was started by people who live in this region, know these neighborhoods, and got tired of watching good people get stuck in jobs that go nowhere.

That means the training is aimed at the work that actually exists here the buildings, the systems, and the companies in Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland. Not a generic national curriculum written for somewhere else.

When you finish, you’re not a name in a database. You’re somebody we know, from a community we’re part of, and we want you working.

Virginia-based. DMV-focused. Built by locals who wanted a different outcome for their neighbors.

02

TWELVE WEEKS. NOT TWO YEARS.

No more low level jobs.

A degree program asks you to wait two years before anything changes. Most people can’t wait two years. Rent doesn’t wait. Kids don’t wait.

Our programs run about 12 weeks. In three months you can go from no experience to job-ready with the skills employers in this region are hiring for right now while someone who chose the two-year route is still sitting in year one.

Short doesn’t mean thin. It means we cut everything that isn’t the trade and kept everything that is.

In about 12 weeks from start to finish. Next classes start tomorrow.

03

OUR INVESTMENT

We back you from day one.

Most programs hand you a textbook and a login. We ship you your own training gear you work with from day one, at home, with your hands.

That’s us backing you before you’ve worked a single day. We spend real money on every student we take, because we only win when you finish and go to work.

Your training materials and computer ship to your door.

04

LEARN FROM HOME

No campus. No commute. No excuse to quit.

You train at home, on your own schedule, with the equipment we send you. No two-hour round trip on I-95. No paying for gas and parking to sit in a classroom. No choosing between class and childcare.

If you’re working now, you don’t have to quit to do this. If you’re home with kids, you don’t have to find a sitter to do this. The program fits into the life you already have — that’s why people finish it.

You’re not doing it alone, either.

100% from home. Work it around your job, your kids, and your schedule.

We're not trying to get you a job. We're
trying to get you a trade.

A job ends when the shift ends or the company downsizes. A trade is yours for life. Skilled trade work doesn’t get outsourced and it doesn’t get automated away. Somebody has to be in the building, with the tools, fixing what’s broken.

And it keeps going up from there. Entry-level tech, then certifications, then licensed tradesman, then your own truck with your own name on the side of it if that’s what you want. Every step pays more than the one before it, and every step is built on the one we start you at.

That’s the difference between a paycheck and a future. We’re here for the second one.

ENTRY-LEVEL TECHNICIAN → CERTIFIED TECH → LICENSED TRADESMAN → YOUR OWN BUSINESS

Virginia Trade School works with workforce programs across Virginia, Maryland, and DC. If you’re out of work, underemployed, or getting help through a WIOA program, your training may be covered at no cost to you. Bring us your case manager’s name and we’ll handle the paperwork from there.
